Technical Support engineer – Solar development M/W (France)

Your mission

To support the worldwide development teams, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer, who will primarily be responsible to manage spatial data and maps for our prospection worldwide. You will create digital and web maps, web layers for our development teams to find the most suitable sites for installing floating solar.

 

Working in close collaboration with a team of Project Engineers and developers you will also gain knowledge and progressively assist the teams in floating solar plants design and other transversal projects.

The missions

  • Support GIS requests from various departments
  • Creating standard and customized digital maps to support engineering and development efforts
  • Producing digital maps depicting project layouts for both technical and public presentations
  • Developing new and adapt existing spatial data sources
  • Managing and using geospatial data, analyze, process, project, convert, and display geospatial data (both raster and vector) in various formats
  • Research and maintain a variety of spatial and associated attribute data
  • Database management including data entry
  • CRM management and regular updates
  • Support to the Engineering & Development team for layouts and designs
  • Create 3D renderings of projects for development efforts
  • Participate to cross-entities transversal projects as required by market and local teams needs.

Competencies

  • Bachelor degree in GIS, Geography, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 0-2 years of relevant GIS experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS
  • Knowledge of cartographic standards, principles, techniques and georeferencing
  • Understand legal descriptions, parcel metadata, aerial imagery, DEMs
  • Familiarity with Story Maps, Toolbox, Dashboards, Web AppBuilder
  • Ability to implement database and server connections
  • Ability to develop small tools using SQL, Python, VBA
  • Good English communication skills (Oral and Writing).
