Hikita Ike

Floating solar panels on an irrigation pond

Homepage | Our projects | Hikita Ike

Hikita Ike is located in Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture, and is surrounded by many rice fields. Agriculture and fish farming are very present in this region. The pond is owned by the Land Improvement District, a local farmers’ organization, and has been leased to fish farmers for a long time. It offered the ideal surface for a floating solar power plant. Based on our proposal, the organization agreed that supporting the development of renewable energies in the region would be a great opportunity to contribute to the energy transition. They chose to sign up with us, given the many advantages offered by floating solar power and our tailored project development proposal.

Electricity is provided to KANSAI Electric Power Company under FIT scheme (Feed-In Tariff).
