Dismantlement and end-of-life of your floating solar power plant

Homepage | Our support | Dismantling of the floating solar plant

A smart and site-friendly project

Even if it’s a long way off, you should think about the end-of-life of your floating solar power plant. We’ll be with you all the way to the end of your plant’s operational life. We dismantle the floating power plant, recycle its materials and components, and restore the site to its original state.

Dismantlement procedures following the end of operations

At the end of the project’s operational life, we set up a minimal-impact dismantling plan for your site.

Power grid disconnection

First of all, the photovoltaic system is disconnected from the power grid and a dismantling area is set up (wooden platform, tables, equipment, etc.).

Unit-by-unit disassembly

Structures (cables, mooring lines, tie rods, etc.) are divided into units identical to those observed during installation and returned to the banks for dismantling.

Components collection and recycling

Photovoltaic modules are collected and returned in accordance with the manufacturer’s recycling program. With regard to floats, depending on the geographical area, different methodologies may apply. They may, for example, be cleaned on-site and then crushed either on-site or at the recycler’s facilities. Aluminum parts are removed and recycled off-site by an approved recycler.

Electrical equipment removal

Overhead and underground electrical distribution and interconnection cables are removed and recycled off-site by an approved recycling facility. The same applies to electrical and electronic appliances, transformers and inverters.

Foundations and anchoring removal

Concrete foundations can be removed and recycled off-site by a concrete recycler. Depending on the type of anchor chosen and the development of ecosystems, some anchors may be left on site after consultation with government departments.

Restoration to original condition

Finally, the site is restored to a condition as close as possible to its original state, either to be used for another activity or to return to its natural state.
